Jean France
Historic Preservation Scholarship

Each year, Historic Pittsford is pleased to offer a $500 scholarship award to encourage and support students who demonstrate an interest in a career related to historic preservation.

Jean France
This scholarship honors Jean France, a Pittsford resident, architectural historian and preservation advocate who worked tirelessly for the preservation of Pittsford’s historic architectural and cultural resources. She was a founding member of Historic Pittsford.
The 2025 recipient of the Jean France Historic Preservation Scholarship is Evelynne Borrelli, a recent graduate of SUNY Potsdam with a BA in Art History and a minor in History and Museum Studies. In the fall, Eve will attend the University of Buffalo majoring in Urban Renewal with an advanced certificate in Historic Preservation. She aspires to a career in project management within historic preservation “to work to develop and plan for the world we now live in, using the tools and knowledge of the past to make it happen.”
Information and an application form for the 2026 Jean France Historic Preservation Scholarship will be available here in March 2026.
