Preservation Achievement Award for Advocacy

In recognition of a lifetime of efforts in historic preservation on behalf of the Pittsford community that include achievements as mayor that preserved the historic character and charm of the Village of Pittsford, a deep knowledge, love, and passion for Pittsford willingly shared in public programs and walking tours, and invaluable contributions to the community as a member of Historic Pittsford’s Board of Directors

Preservation Achievement Award for Stewardship
Brett Pogoda
In recognition of the extensive and sensitive restoration of a long-vacant historic home, ensuring that all surviving historic features remained intact, working closely with the Village Historic Preservation Board and others to select historically compatible materials and colors, and preserving an important community landmark as a private residence, thereby reinforcing the residential quality of the center of Pittsford Village.

Historic Pittsford provides leadership, advocacy, and education to preserve Pittsford’s diverse historic resources. Its annual Preservation Achievement Awards recognize individuals, groups, or organizations whose outstanding efforts supported Historic Pittsford’s mission and made a significant contribution to historic preservation in the community.

Information and a nomination form for the 2026 Preservation Achievement Awards will be available here in March 2026.

Nominations may be submitted for a Preservation Achievement Award in any one of the following categories:
Stewardship Award – for the sensitive preservation, restoration, rehabilitation or long-term maintenance and care of a historically significant property
Advocacy Award – for leadership of public or private efforts in support of historic preservation
Education Award – for the creation and implementation of programs, presentations, materials or educational activities which promote and support historic preservation
Public Policy Award – for the creation and approval of public policy which advances the principles of historic preservation
