Historic Preservation Scholarship

Historic Pittsford is pleased to offer the annual Jean France Historic Preservation Scholarship for the tenth year! This one-time, $1,000 award is intended to encourage and support students who demonstrate an interest in a career related to historic preservation. The scholarship award honors Jean France, who as a teacher, mentor, consultant and advocate, shared her knowledge and passion for historic preservation.
Eligibility:
-
High School senior or college student AND
-
Pittsford resident attending any high school or college OR non-resident attending Pittsford Sutherland or Pittsford Mendon High School or a college/university in Monroe County AND
-
Enrolled, applying, or accepted into a college program that may lead to a career related to historic preservation
-
College programs may include but are not limited to the following: architecture, history, museum studies, landscape architecture, environmental studies, preservation trades, or another related field.

Jean France
This scholarship honors Jean France, a Pittsford resident, architectural historian and preservation advocate who worked tirelessly for the preservation of Pittsford’s historic architectural and cultural resources. She was a founding member of Historic Pittsford.
